Here's a bit of brightness for what was a grey weekend here in the Borders. I took some of my Grannies old kitchen chairs and gave them a new coat for the winter. I thought that I would try and upcyle 365 of these and create a seating sculpture over the next few weeks. I'll install them in a high street windows to raise awareness first and then create a massive seating place. It's all for Chairaidday (gedditt !) I then thought we could have a open air (?) concert / gig and sell the seats, literally to get some bums on seats. This will build up a working fund for young artist / makers in the area wanting to get started in a hands on career. I'm not happy with the way our creative courses in schools and colleges are being axed and need to keep trad skills alive. If you have any old chairs for the project they will be really welcome. Please contact me here if you have any, preferably wooden stick backs as in the images to donate.

Just a couple of images of a new installation up at Make Gateside Mills in Fife. New works from me ably helped by furniture maker Lachlan Park who just dropped in last week for a few days from New Zealand. Thanks to Kenny for the overnighter, beer and pheasant.
Old Comb Over Donald Trump is up for and award form Robert Gordons for "Services to Scotland " and is thinking about running for the Whitehouse. Nostradamus predicted that a platic turd would rule the americas from within a bag of shite ! Strange but true .. give me bloody strength .. what is the world coming to ?
Have a look at this: http://www.38degrees.org.uk/trump-honorary-degree I've just signed a petition to Professor John Harper, Acting Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Robert Gordon University to ask him not to award Donald Trump an honorary degree. He needs to know that lots of people feel strongly that Trump shouldn't be honoured while his plans for a giant golf course continue to threaten locals with eviction. Click here to sign the petition to Professor John Harper now, it only takes two minutes: http://www.38degrees.org.uk/trump-honorary-degree Thanks, Eoin |
